Morphological description
Basidiomata small-sized. Pileus 1.3–5 cm diam, subhemispherical, then convex, sometimes slightly depressed in the center, margin incurved; surface dry, densely covered with brown (6C6) to reddish brown (6C8) squamules; context 0.2–0.5 cm in thick in the center of the pileus, yellowish white (1A3), unchanging in color or occasionally turning bluish when bruised. Hymenophore poroid, nearly adnate to slightly depressed around apex of stipe; pores angular, 1–2 mm diam, yellow (2A6), unchanging in color or occasionally turning bluish when bruised; tubes 0.2–0.3 cm in length, pale yellow (1A6), unchanging in color or occasionally turning bluish when bruised. Stipe 3–7 × 0.2–0.6 cm, central, subcylindrical, solid; surface longitudinally fibrillose, pale brown (5D5) to brown (5D6); context yellowish (1A4) or pale yellowish brown (1B6), unchanging in color when bruised; annulus absent; basal mycelium white (1A1). Odor indistinct. Basidia 20–35 × 9–14 μm, clavate, thin-walled, 4-spored, yellowish in KOH; sterigmata 4–5 μm in length. Basidiospores [140/7/5] (8–) 9–11(− 13) × 4–5 μm,
Q = (1.9–) 2–2.6 (− 2.75), Qm = 2.29 ± 0.21, subfusiform to ellipsoid, slightly thick-walled (up to 0.5 μm), olive brown to yellowish brown in KOH, smooth. Hymenophoral trama boletoid, composed of thin- to slightly thick-walled (up to
0.5 μm) hyphae, 4–8 μm wide, colorless in KOH.
Cheilocystidia 45–52 × 11–13 μm, subfusiform to fusiform, thin-walled, yellowish in KOH, no encrustations. Pleurocystidia 49–66 × 12–19 μm, subfusiform to fusiform, thin-walled, yellowish in KOH, no encrustations. Pileipellis a trichoderm 80–110 μm thick, composed of more or less vertically arranged, 6–15 μm wide, thin- to slightly thick-walled (up to 0.5 μm) hyphae, colorless in KOH; terminal cell 14– 40 × 6–15 μm, subfusiform, clavate and subcylindrical, with obtuse apex. Pileal trama made up of hyphae 4–12 μm in diameter, thin- to slightly thick-walled (up to 0.5 μm), yellowish toyellowish brown in KOH. Stipitipellis a trichoderm-like structure 45–70 μm in thickness, composed of thin- to slightly thick-walled (up to 0.5 μm), 3–5 μm wide, yellowish in KOH, emergent hyphae with narrowly clavate, cylindrical and subcylindrical terminal cells (8–36 × 4–5 μm). Stipe trama compose of cylindrical parallel hyphae 4–14 μm wide, thin- to slightly thick-walled (up to 0.5 μm), yellowish to yellowish brown in KOH. Clamp connections absent in all tissues.
