Holotype: China, Lulang county, Tibet, obtained from a leaf of Hydrangea heteromalla, Sep. 2004, F.-Y. Bai (holotype CGMCC 2.2796T preserved in a metabolically inactive state, ex-type CBS 15462 = XZ46A1).
Morphological description
Culture characteristics: In YM broth, after 7 d at 17 °C, cells are cylindrical and ellipsoidal, 3.0–4.3 × 5.8–9.1 μm and single, budding is polar (Fig. 19H), a sediment is present. After 1 mo at 17 °C, a ring and a sediment are present. On YM agar, after 1 mo at 17 °C, the streak culture is cream, butyrous, smooth and glossy. The margin is entire. In Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar, pseudohyphae are not formed. Sexual structures are not observed on YM, PDA, V8 and CM agar. Ballistoconidia are not produced.
Habitat: a leaf of Hydrangea heteromalla.
Distribution: Lulang county, Tibet, China.
