Holotype: China, Bomi county, Tibet, obtained from a leaf of Rhododendron triflorum, Sep. 2004, F.-Y. Bai (holotype CGMCC 2.2763T preserved in a metabolically inactive state, ex-type CBS 15457 = XZ27E3).
Morphological description
Culture characteristics: In YM broth, after 7 d at 17 °C, cells are ovoid, ellipsoidal and cylindrical, 2.7–4.8 × 4.5–9.5 μm and single, budding is polar (Fig. 14A), a sediment is formed. After 1 mo at 17 °C, a sediment is present. On YM agar, after 1 mo at 17 °C, the streak culture is pinkish cream, butyrous, smooth and glossy. The margin is entire. In Dalmau plate culture on corn meal agar, pseudohyphae are not formed. Sexual structures are not observed on YM, PDA, V8 and CM agar. Ballistoconidia are long ellipsoidal or ovoid, 3.0–4.3 × 7.9–10.0 μm (Fig. 14B).
Habitat: a leaf of Rhododendron triflorum.
Distribution: Bomi county, Tibet,China.
